I hate the mold smell from my FL machine

I have a front load washing machine and hate it because it smells like mold and mildew and now I have to figure out how to get rid of the smell.  You figure you spent all that money on a nice washer that it’ll work right and not smell funny.  Now my washer emits a strange odor on all my clothes.  I’ve search high and low for ways to kill the mold and mildew from my front load washer or FL washer as some say.  May be I should just give up and go back to a top load washer.  If anyone finds anything let me know.
